The nursery at KURUMA
This time of the year all our feathery friends are having babies.
It is a huge challenge to keep them safe as there are so many predators. The cape grey mongoose being the worst. Then we have a Black-headed heron picking up the little ducklings off the dam for a meal.
And then we have a huge Jackal Buzzard that often hovers and dives down to collect a young gosling for a meal. We have lost 5 batches of 12 eggs and 12 ducklings 8 young goslings and 10 chicks.
At the moment we keep in the yoga room until they a little bigger.
